Granville teen 'Enchanted' to meet Taylor Swift (photo)

Granville girls meet Taylor Swift

Ally Arnado’s “Wildest Dreams” came true Thursday night, and she hasn’t been able to “Shake It Off” since.

If the song references aren’t landing, you’re probably not a die-hard Taylor Swift fan, like Arnado is. And you probably weren’t invited to Swift’s house for a private party, like Arnado was.

“It still doesn’t feel real,” Arnado, 18, of Granville said on Friday over the phone.

As if Swift fans needed more reasons to love her, the 27-year-old singer hosts “secret sessions,” also known as listening parties, in her own homes. At the parties, guests that Swift handpicks listen to her upcoming album before it’s released. Reputation, Swifts sixth album, drops Nov. 10. The first party she held for the album was Friday, Oct. 13, in her London home, and the second and third were in her Rhode Island mansion.

Songs that have already been leaked from the album are, “Look What You Made Me Do,” “Gorgeous,” and “... Ready for It?”

“The album is powerful and emotional. There are definitely some great surprises on it. I think it’s her best album yet,” Arnado said.

To be noticed by Swift, you need to be a mega-fan and share about her on social media, a lot.

The Granville girl has blogged about the country/pop icon on Tumblr for nearly six years, and Swift has followed her back since January of 2015. Swift has liked seven of Arnado’s posts and reblogged one of them. Arnado recently blogged about Swift, and it was noticed by Swift’s managers.

The managers direct-messaged Arnado via Twitter, inviting her to apply to attend the listening party.

On Oct. 13, Arnado was formally invited to the party at Swift’s oceanfront mansion in Westerly, Rhode Island.

“I could barely breath when I got the call … nothing would stop me from going,” Arnado said over the phone last Friday.

About 65 other Swift super-fans were also invited to the mansion, where they mingled with Swift’s mom, dad and “cute” brother and ate food Swift prepared, including chicken nuggets, pizza and cookies (as if she wasn’t awesome enough). They were also showered with gifts and goodies to take home.

“It’s really cool to meet the people who shaped my idol into the person she is,” Arnado said about Swift’s family.

The group waited in anticipation for the pop star to appear and was singing her song “Fearless” when Swift came into the room mid-chorus.

Arnado and her best friend Mercedes Green, 17, of Granville, whom Arnado was able to invite, sat about 3 feet away from Swift on her living room floor on blankets.

“I grabbed Mercedes’ hand. I didn’t think it was real life!” Arnado said.

“She was wearing red lipstick and her hair was in natural curls and she just looked incredibly gorgeous,” she said.

Fans got to get up close with Swift’s Grammy Awards, and Swift told Arnado she could pose with one for a picture.

But Arnado said she didn’t want to hold the award.

“I told her I just wanted to hug her instead and she thought that was so sweet,” Arnado said.

“I waited for that hug since I was 7 years old.”

Since the party she has been listening to Swift’s songs nonstop (not like that’s out of the ordinary). She also said she can’t stop bragging about her experience (but who could?)

She said what has changed for her the most is her perception of Swift.

“I’ve always known that Taylor was a wonderful person, but being in her presence just really reassured me that she’s incredibly genuine and does everything for her fans … not only was it a dream come true for me, but my heart feels so full knowing just how lovely Taylor is,” Arnado gushed.

“It was the best day of my life” (obviously).
